Director, Operations (Manufacturing)

Location: Coldwater, Michigan, United States; onsite manufacturing/office environment

What you will do

• Lead multi-site manufacturing, assembly, service, logistics, purchasing, warehouse, receiving, and facility operations.
• Develop long-range operational strategies, standardized frameworks, KPIs, and performance expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement through value stream mapping, waste reduction, throughput optimization, and equipment reliability.
• Own supply chain planning, procurement, inventory management, material handling systems, and strategic vendor partnerships.
• Manage operational P&L, budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, cost reduction, and margin improvement.
• Develop plant managers, supervisors, and operational teams while partnering with sales, engineering, product development, finance, IT, and key customers.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in manufacturing, service operations, logistics, and supply chain.
• Proven P&L ownership, financial acumen, strategic thinking, decision-making, and executive communication skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and operational analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, or service environments preferred.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing/office environment, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing advanced material handling systems.
• Experience with warehousing, light assembly, packaging, small-package and LTL logistics, and company-owned trucking.
• Working knowledge of S&OP/SI&OP forecasting and capacity-planning methodologies.
• Experience in automotive, powersports, or high-performance vehicle industries.
• Operational leadership in a mixed D2C/B2B environment and experience scaling multi-site operations.
