What you will do

• Operate and maintain pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment, injection wells, and other wastewater treatment systems.
• Monitor equipment performance, report malfunctions, and maintain records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Record daily system readings and inspect pump leachate.
• Collect and process storm water samples as needed.
• Handle, recover, dispose of, and recycle hazardous waste; maintain logs of waste received and shipped off-site.
• Perform grounds maintenance, including weed trimming and grass cutting around the facility and related systems.

Requirements

• Knowledge of water and wastewater facility operation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and electrical and hydraulic support systems.
• Knowledge of collection systems, pump stations, regulator stations, pumps, cross-connections, and mechanical and electrical theory.
• Accuracy, thoroughness, attention to detail, prioritization, and the ability to manage diverse responsibilities.
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record may be required for some positions.
• Wastewater treatment operator certification may be required for some positions.
