Wastewater Operator

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, and regulate wastewater treatment and discharge processes in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Perform water quality analyses and record measurements and actions in process logs.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain wastewater equipment, including motors, pumps, gearboxes, pulleys, and belts.
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions and identify unusual, inefficient, or dangerous operating conditions.
• Handle process chemicals safely and follow established safety protocols.
• Maintain an organized work area and communicate effectively with leadership and team members.

Requirements

• Physical/Chemical Wastewater – Class A qualification and a South Carolina Environmental Certification Board Wastewater Operator License are required.
• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment methods, process chemicals, chemical reactions, and hazardous chemical handling.
• Strong computer, math, reading, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow established procedures, multitask, and adapt to changing processes.
• Ability to work at heights up to 45 feet with fall protection and perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, kneeling, and crawling.
