Wastewater Treatment Operator - 3rd Shift (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at 6457 Fly Rd., East Syracuse, NY. Overnight schedule is Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.; training on first shift is required.

Salary: $54,569–$90,948 per year. An annual or quarterly bonus and shift premium may apply depending on the assignment and location.

What you will do

• Operate wastewater treatment systems, manually adjusting flow valves and working with pneumatic, magnetic-drive, and metering pumps.
• Monitor batch treatment processes, collect samples, record analytical readings, and enter treatment data electronically.
• Transfer, store, and dispose of chemicals and contaminated materials in accordance with environmental procedures.
• Respond to incidental chemical spills and conduct site audits of PPE and chemical safety compliance.
• Patrol chemical storage areas and verify proper storage and accessibility procedures.
• Report accidents, near misses, and safety concerns while maintaining a clean and safe manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is preferred.
• One to two years of wastewater treatment experience is preferred.
• Ability to apply chemical processing procedures and environmental regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and RCRA requirements.
• Completion of a 12-module hazardous materials training program and forklift operator certification.
• General computer skills, including electronic record updates, data entry, and email communication.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at the level required for the job; ability to work onsite overnight in a manufacturing environment and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience in the aerospace industry or with AS9102.
