TL;DR
IT Systems Administrator (Windows Server/VMware/Networking): Evaluating, stabilizing, and standardizing infrastructure across multiple manufacturing facilities with an accent on server administration, network management, virtualization, and security compliance. Focus on modernizing aging infrastructure, executing upgrade projects, enforcing seven-day patching requirements, and supporting end users across distributed sites.
Location: Charlotte, NC, USA; travel to different manufacturing sites required, up to 25%.

What you will do
- Monitor infrastructure, identify risks and modernization opportunities, and define technical requirements for hardware, software, and network upgrade projects.
- Lead technical execution across Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V, LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
- Manage virtualization, storage, backups, disaster recovery, patch automation, and security remediation.
- Support change management, maintenance scheduling, contingency planning, and infrastructure standardization across multiple facilities.
- Administer Microsoft 365 groups, identity management, SharePoint, and Teams while resolving escalated end-user issues.
- Create system diagrams, SOPs, and runbooks, and train and mentor junior IT staff.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience in user support, systems administration, network management, and virtualization.
- Proficiency with Windows Server 2012–2025, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP.
- Experience administering VMware vSphere and/or Hyper-V.
- Strong knowledge of switching, routing, and firewalls; SonicWall experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with N-able/N-central or similar patch and automation platforms, plus familiarity with ServiceNow or comparable ITSM systems.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; uses E-Verify for new hires.
Nice to have
- MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, Network+, or Security+ certification.
- M365/Azure experience or certifications.
- Experience modernizing outdated infrastructure and diagnosing root causes in complex site networks.
