Systems Administrator

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States. Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; no travel required.

hirify.global is a U.S. company developing and implementing biometric recognition, immigration processing, and information reporting and management systems for border security operations.

What you will do

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, enterprise storage, backup systems, and related infrastructure.
• Maintain uptime, performance, reliability, resource availability, and security across servers, networks, endpoints, cloud services, and enterprise applications.
• Diagnose and resolve complex server, network, storage, backup, endpoint, software, and infrastructure issues as a senior escalation point.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and integrate hardware, software platforms, telecommunications equipment, and enterprise systems.
• Support system hardening, patch management, access controls, backup validation, disaster recovery planning, and security compliance.
• Develop administration standards and documentation, collaborate with stakeholders and vendors, and provide technical direction and mentoring to junior staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; seven years of relevant IT experience may substitute for the degree.
• Three to five years of experience in systems administration, IT infrastructure support, network administration, or a related field.
• Advanced systems and network administration knowledge, including Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and identity and access management.
• Experience with databases, enterprise backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam or Symantec Backup, storage and SAN environments, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and virtualization platforms.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices, patch management, access controls, system hardening, data protection, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
• Strong communication, organization, customer service, independent work, collaboration, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Microsoft, VMware, networking, cloud, or cybersecurity certifications, including Microsoft Certified, Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Network+, or Security+.
• Experience supporting network devices, enterprise applications, and end-user computing environments.
