Sr Buyer (Aerospace)

Location: Burbank, California, United States; onsite in a manufacturing environment

Salary: $99,728–$122,453 per year, with possible performance-based bonus eligibility.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics develops aerospace systems, including brake control systems and premium cabin actuation solutions for commercial and military aircraft.

What you will do

• Perform materials requirements planning and coordinate production priorities with manufacturing teams and external suppliers.
• Monitor supplier orders, shipments, delivery schedules, and daily shortage reporting to support production.
• Develop inventory action plans and implement pull-based replenishment systems such as Kanban.
• Manage supplier relationships, quotes, blanket purchase orders, negotiations, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Resolve supplier quality issues through NCR, CAR, RMA, and debit memo processes using Oracle ERP.
• Drive continuous improvement, supplier performance initiatives, process upgrades, and cross-functional supply chain projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of buying experience in a similar industry, or equivalent supply chain knowledge gained through work or education.
• In-depth knowledge of the assigned manufacturing process and working knowledge of buying, ordering, production planning, MRP, and Kanban systems.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word, with the ability to work with Access databases and production-support computer systems.
• Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules, solve urgent manufacturing problems, analyze numerical information, and communicate outcomes.
• Ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams.
• BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Materials, or a related field.
