Accounting Manager

Location: Hybrid, with two days per week in the Seattle or Portland office

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Own monthly close calendars and financial reporting for assigned clients, properties, and ownership groups.
• Review property-level financial statements, reconciliations, cash activity, trust balances, intercompany balances, and owner statements.
• Own corporate monthly close, consolidated reporting, intercompany eliminations, business-line P&L reporting, and corporate journal entries.
• Review construction draw reconciliations, WIP schedules, project budgets, committed costs, and budget-versus-actual variances.
• Lead accounting setup and first close processes for newly formed or acquired entities.
• Direct and review the work of the Philippines-based accounting team while improving controls, SOPs, and accounting workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of a full monthly close cycle.
• Hands-on real estate accounting experience covering property, corporate, construction, and/or development activities.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, intercompany reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements.
• Proficiency with AppFolio or comparable property management accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple properties, entities, or clients.

Nice to have

• Active or inactive CPA license and public accounting experience.
• Experience with job costing, construction WIP schedules, project-level P&L, and development entity accounting.
• Experience reviewing offshore or outsourced accounting teams.
• Experience managing client, owner, or investor relationships and familiarity with property management trust accounting.
