Accounting Manager (Logistics Technology)

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; hybrid work with onsite attendance at the Chicago office at least once per week

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for annual performance incentives

What you will do

• Lead and supervise accounting professionals while executing accounting activities for multiple operating entities.
• Support month-end close through journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Participate in annual audits and tax reporting by preparing documentation and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with the Financial Planning and Analysis team.
• Maintain accounting records for the Mexico Logistics team and record monthly payroll expenses, including support for the 401(k) audit.
• Analyze reporting discrepancies, apply accounting treatment to customer contracts, and improve or automate accounting processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience and previous leadership or management experience.
• High-level proficiency with Excel, including organizing and manipulating large datasets for reconciliations and analysis.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting controls, and process improvement.
• Experience with NetSuite, Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics, or another large ERP system.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience with a large public company and accounting controls implementation and maintenance.
• Previous public accounting experience.
