Focus on planning flights near energized utility structures, inspecting pole conditions, maintaining UAS equipment, and supporting design, engineering, and construction decisions.
Location: United States project sites; frequent travel and overnight stays required.

What you will do
- Plan UAS flights by reviewing project requirements, weather, hazards, and safe flight paths.
- Operate unmanned aerial systems near transmission and distribution poles, power lines, and related equipment.
- Capture visual, thermal, photogrammetry, and LiDAR data using aerial sensors and handheld ground cameras.
- Inspect and analyze pole data to identify damage, wear, and maintenance or repair needs.
- Maintain UAS equipment, including batteries, propellers, cameras, and sensors.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, maintenance, construction, and project stakeholders to share findings and support decisions.
Requirements
- Experience operating UAS for transmission and distribution field survey or inspection work.
- Ability to collect and interpret detailed infrastructure imagery and sensor data.
- Knowledge of UAS safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and flight planning.
- Clean driving record.
- Availability for frequent travel and overnight stays at project sites.
Nice to have
- Ground Penetrating Radar and utility locating training.
- Thermography Level 1 certification or interest in pursuing certification for infrared analysis.
