Senior Software Test Automation Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Location: Niwot, Colorado, United States; hybrid with a minimum of three days per week in the office

Salary: $84,000–$126,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Lead complex testing efforts for application software and embedded firmware across the software development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Java and Python.
• Plan testing for large features and projects, defining scope, identifying risks, and coordinating execution.
• Build and execute functional, integration, system, and performance test suites, including manual and automated coverage.
• Analyze defects, perform root cause analysis, validate fixes, and collaborate with software and systems engineers.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, improve QA practices, mentor engineers, and maintain test documentation.

Requirements

• Must work in the Niwot office at least three days per week.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent field; a relevant master’s degree may substitute for three years of professional experience.
• At least 10 years of experience developing and executing automated software or firmware tests and tracking defects.
• Strong knowledge of software development, test principles, test-driven development, and multiple levels of automated testing.
• Experience with Ranorex, Java or Python, test tools and processes, defect tracking, and an integrated development environment such as IntelliJ IDEA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, technical writing, and independent-working skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in an Agile development environment.
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
