Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (UAS)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; ability to travel to the test site multiple times per week is required.

What you will do

• Conduct verification, validation, evaluation, and demonstrations of sUAS platforms.
• Create, maintain, and execute system, integration, smoke, and regression test cases and suites.
• Develop automated testing procedures using Bash, Python, or a similar language.
• Analyze test results, organize testing artifacts, and prepare reports for stakeholders.
• Identify defects and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, development, and pilot teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support testability, quality processes, effort estimation, and compliance with sUAS safety and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• 10 or more years of experience in a related field and experience with sUAS platforms, including multirotor aircraft or fixed-wing UAS piloting.
• Experience with test-case automation, test planning, reports, defect tracking, test-suite tools, and the software and product development lifecycle.
• Technical knowledge of sUAS systems, Linux, embedded systems, radio, networking, Jira, and Bugzilla or TestRail.
• Familiarity with sprint planning, backlog grooming, root-cause analysis, five whys, and corrective actions.
• Must be eligible for Part 107 certification and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residence for work subject to ITAR/EAR restrictions; sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace engineering, aviation technology, or UAS technology.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence, PX4, ArduPilot, MAVLink, UASTool, ATAK, QGroundControl, WebODM, UgCS, or Pix4D.
• Familiarity with controls, robotics, microcontrollers, Android, networking, FAA Drone Zone, LAANC, Drone NOTAMs, and waivers.
