Substation Engineer V (Power Engineering)

Location: Remote, associated with Madison, Wisconsin and US employment conditions

Salary: USD $140,000–$175,718.40 per year, plus potential annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Perform preliminary and detailed design, budget estimates, scheduling, and engineering calculations for complex electrical systems.
• Specify equipment, evaluate proposals, prepare requisitions, and coordinate equipment delivery with construction schedules.
• Monitor electrical construction for compliance with plans, specifications, codes, schedules, quality, and safety requirements.
• Serve as Project Engineer on moderate to large projects, including directing approved changes and supporting testing, inspections, and contractor invoice evaluation.
• Prepare complex engineering studies, economic analyses, reports, feasibility studies, and budget and schedule updates.
• Lead professional development, training, and evaluation of department personnel; travel may be required.

Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of appropriate experience in the designated engineering field.
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited program, or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineering License required.
• Expertise in engineering, construction, QA/QC, safety, document control, and applicable national and local standards.
• Ability to perform on-site measurements, evaluate equipment performance, and ensure accurate project records.
