What you will do
- Define telecommunications and IT scopes from conceptual development through detailed design for oil and gas, refining, and petrochemical projects.
- Direct equipment suppliers and third-party design engineering and construction contractors.
- Prepare designs, engineering calculations, field reports, and detailed sketches.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and support design teams to deliver quality project outputs.
- Develop fault-resilient, multi-vendor telecommunications solutions with cross-platform integrations.
- Support control systems and instrumentation activities while developing specialized telecommunications expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 3 years of industry experience, including approximately 4 years of related work experience.
- Experience designing, configuring, installing, or testing systems such as CCTV, access control, perimeter intrusion detection, PA/GA, wired and wireless networks, telephony, digital radio, marine, or microwave systems.
- Experience in oil and gas, refining, or petrochemical facilities and in managing suppliers.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn cybersecurity implementation methods and instrument calculation applications.
- Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and understand interface requirements.
- Knowledge of NEC, IEC, ISA, and IEEE standards, methods, and practices.
Nice to have
- PE or P.Eng. registration.
- Experience with computer-aided design software.
- Construction support experience.
