What you will do

• Lead hydraulic cylinder resourcing and redesign projects from initial scope through production implementation.
• Define technical, functional, performance, durability, packaging, interface, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with hydraulic cylinder suppliers on design concepts, manufacturing capability, quality, cost, capacity, and technical feasibility.
• Review designs, calculations, drawings, tolerance studies, materials, sealing systems, and design-analysis results.
• Plan and coordinate prototype builds, laboratory and machine testing, field validation, instrumentation, and test reporting.
• Lead failure investigations, corrective design actions, engineering documentation, change notices, production launch, and supplier-quality support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Five or more years of relevant experience in hydraulic systems, hydraulic cylinders, fluid-power components, or mobile-equipment engineering.
• Knowledge of hydraulic cylinder sizing, pressure containment, structural loading, rod buckling, sealing, leakage control, materials, coatings, welding, machining, and mounting interfaces.
• Experience with engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, tolerance stacks, bills of material, validation plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience working with component suppliers and coordinating prototype, laboratory, machine-testing, and design-validation activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project-management, technical communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with aerial work platforms, telehandlers, construction, agricultural, material-handling, or other off-highway equipment.
• Experience leading supplier transitions, localization, cost-reduction, or hydraulic cylinder redesign programs.
• Familiarity with hydraulic simulation, finite element analysis, fatigue analysis, three-dimensional CAD, and product lifecycle management systems.
• Knowledge of Design FMEA, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly, APQP, PPAP, supplier-quality processes, and applicable testing standards.
• Professional Engineer or fluid-power certification.
