Engineer - Product Safety & Reliability (Manufacturing)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; travel up to 50%, sometimes on short notice

Salary: $64,500–$103,500 per year

What you will do

• Assist with field accident and incident investigations for JLG and Jerr-Dan products, including on-site inspections, photography, video, and 3D scanning.
• Become a trained operator and perform functional checks of equipment during incident investigations.
• Support research and discovery for litigation matters while preserving evidence and documenting findings accurately.
• Coordinate with Engineering and other departments on product safety and reliability matters.
• Prepare Field Service Bulletins and other service information.
• Review new products, technical publications, and marketing materials for standards compliance and product safety concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
• Internship experience or at least 6 months of related work experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50%, sometimes on short notice.
• Strong organization, multitasking, communication, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to document observations clearly, objectively, and accurately and handle confidential, legally sensitive information.

Nice to have

• Education or experience in electro-mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
• Internship, co-op, or up to three years of related engineering experience.
