Engineer - Product Safety & Reliability (Manufacturing)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; travel up to 50% is required, sometimes on short notice.

Salary: $64,500–$103,500 per year.

What you will do

• Assist with field accident and incident investigations for JLG and Jerr-Dan products, including on-site inspections, photographs, videos, and 3D scanning.
• Become a trained operator and perform functional checks of products during incident investigations.
• Support research and discovery for litigation matters while preserving evidence and documenting facts accurately.
• Collaborate with engineering and other departments on product safety and reliability matters.
• Review new products, technical publications, and marketing materials for standards compliance and product safety concerns.
• Prepare field service bulletins and service information, and interact with customers, end users, government bodies, and trade associations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
• Internship experience or at least 6 months of related work experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50%, sometimes on short notice.
• Education or experience in electromechanical, mechatronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering is preferred.
• Strong organization, communication, and technical writing skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and legally sensitive information with discretion and factual neutrality.
