What you will do

  • Lead internal estimating teams as Bid Captain for competitive bids or Lead for negotiated budgets.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, reports, and revisions to define project scope and identify cost impacts.
  • Develop subcontractor and vendor scopes, obtain bid pricing, evaluate estimates, and prepare complete budget and proposal packages.
  • Perform material take-offs, establish quantities and costs, and include assumptions, clarifications, alternates, allowances, schedules, and long-lead items.
  • Collaborate with owners, developers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams throughout estimation and bid-package buyout.
  • Attend site visits, assess logistics and existing conditions, research value-management options, and maintain historical pricing data.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of construction budgeting or estimating experience.
  • 5–7 years of material take-off experience required.
  • High school diploma required; an associate's, vocational, or technical degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Project, estimating software, and blueprint interpretation.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and BuildingConnected is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills; ability to work in a high-pressure team environment.
