Location: Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia; travel to various practice locations is required

What you will do

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outpatient care for oncology patients.
  • Initiate and document appropriate clinical interventions and evaluate patient and family responses.
  • Prescribe drug therapies according to practice protocols and physician consultation.
  • Assess patient and family needs and provide education.
  • Provide staff education and incorporate evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Coordinate care between inpatient, skilled nursing, and home settings.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited program with successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program, or successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current RN license and state registration with Nurse Practitioner certification, or current Physician Assistant license in the practicing state.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of the physiological and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ability to travel to various practice locations.

Nice to have

  • Two years of post-graduate hematology/oncology experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
