Salary: $104,000–$186,160 per year

What you will do

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients in the Solid Tumor/Neuro-Oncology service, addressing acute and chronic disease and treatment-related complications.
  • Obtain histories, perform examinations, order and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory tests, diagnose disease and disease stage, and implement treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient responses, perform indicated diagnostic procedures, coordinate referrals and ancillary services, and provide follow-up to patients, families, and referring physicians.
  • Collect, document, analyze, and communicate patient and research data in medical records, clinical research flow sheets, and trial documentation.
  • Collaborate on clinical research objectives and adhere to clinical trial protocols.
  • Educate patients and families, precept students and residents, orient new staff, and participate in patient safety and care coordination initiatives.

Requirements

  • Passed certification examination as either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Nurse Practitioners: master's degree in nursing and current Tennessee advanced practice licensure and required national certification.
  • Physician Assistants: graduation from an ARC-PA-accredited program, Tennessee physician assistant licensure, and NCCPA certification.
  • Required certifications include the applicable BLS, PALS, and ACLS credentials for the Physician Assistant pathway.
  • Current supervising physician verification, Tennessee certificate of fitness where applicable, and DEA certification within six months of employment are required.
  • Pediatrics and hematology and/or oncology experience is preferred; Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification is highly preferred.
