Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

Salary: $130,321.87–$293,282.93 per year

What you will do

  • Manage outpatient care for gastrointestinal oncology patients in collaboration with physicians.
  • Assess and treat acute and chronic problems associated with disease, treatment, and related conditions.
  • Provide anticipatory guidance, patient and family education, and psychological and emotional support.
  • Prescribe Schedule II–V controlled substances within Massachusetts authorization requirements.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams, institutions, and agencies.
  • Apply critical thinking, research principles, and leadership to improve care quality.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized and licensed to practice in Massachusetts.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: national certification approved by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing, a master’s degree in nursing, and at least 24 contact hours in pharmacotherapeutics.
  • For Nurse Practitioners: at least one year of oncology nursing or Nurse Practitioner experience.
  • For Physician Assistants: a master’s degree, completion of an AAPA/NCCPA-accredited program, NCCPA certification, and current Massachusetts licensure.
  • Current Massachusetts and federal DEA authorization, plus Massachusetts controlled-substance licensing, is required.
  • Physician Assistant experience levels range from no experience for PA I to five years of qualifying experience for PA III.

Nice to have

  • Oncology Nurse Practitioner experience.
  • Oncology nursing certification such as OCN, AOCN, CPON, BMTCN, or CPHON.
