Salary: $130,321.87–$293,282.93 per year

What you will do

  • Manage outpatient care for patients with acute and chronic conditions related to cancer and its treatment.
  • Perform independent clinical assessments and manage treatment-related care for patients undergoing radiation therapy.
  • Provide anticipatory guidance, patient and family education, and psychological and emotional support.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary oncology care with radiation oncologists, nursing staff, radiation therapists, administrative personnel, and external institutions.
  • Use clinical autonomy, critical thinking, and research principles to improve quality of care.
  • Provide weekend rotation coverage.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing for Nurse Practitioner applicants, or a master’s degree and completion of an AAPA/NCCPA-accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current Massachusetts authorization and licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • National certification: an approved Nurse Practitioner certification or current NCCPA certification for Physician Assistant applicants.
  • Nurse Practitioner applicants need at least one year of oncology nursing or Nurse Practitioner experience; PA I applicants require no professional experience.
  • Required Massachusetts and federal DEA credentials and applicable Massachusetts controlled-substance licenses.
  • Nurse Practitioner applicants need at least 24 pharmacotherapeutics contact hours; Physician Assistant applicants must complete 100 CME hours every two years.

Nice to have

  • Oncology Nurse Practitioner experience.
  • Oncology nursing certification such as OCN, AOCN, CPON, BMTCN, or CPHON.
  • Qualifying Physician Assistant experience for PA II or PA III levels: two or five years respectively.
