Automotive Metal Finisher

Location: Clearwater, Florida, United States; onsite, 1st shift

Salary: $20.71–$25.48 per hour, based on experience and education

What you will do

• Inspect metal truck bodies, doors, and parts before and after preparation.
• Sand surfaces and grind welds to prepare components for painting.
• Prepare surfaces for the wet-on-wet paint process.
• Identify, repair, and glaze major defects independently, as well as repair minor dents and gouges.
• Train department colleagues as needed and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Communicate effectively and maintain regular attendance.

Requirements

• At least 3 months of related experience.
• Ability to inspect and prepare automotive metal surfaces for painting.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform twisting, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling motions.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds; heavier loads require team assistance or lifting equipment.
• Ability to use required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and a safety vest.
• Required vision, hearing, balance, and limb and finger dexterity for the role.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of automotive metal finishing and paint processes.
• Experience with hammer-and-dolly techniques.
• Experience using polyester primers and small pneumatic hand tools.
