TL;DR
NVH Engineering Intern (Marine) (NVH and Structural Testing): Supporting the development of marine propulsion products through laboratory, dynamometer, and on-water testing with an accent on acoustic and vibration data acquisition, signal analysis, and engineering problem solving. Focus on calibrating instrumentation, interpreting structural response data, troubleshooting root causes, and communicating test findings through technical reports and presentations.
Location: Onsite at Plant 12 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States. Relocation is available. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
Salary: $18.00–$27.50 per hour.

What you will do
- Support laboratory, dynamometer, and on-water product testing for the NVH & Structures Group.
- Set up, calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot NVH instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
- Acquire, process, and analyze acoustic, vibration, and structural response data.
- Apply engineering fundamentals and digital signal processing to interpret test results and support product development.
- Document test procedures and results, and prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams while supporting troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at an accredited university.
- At least second-semester sophomore standing with 48 or more completed credit hours.
- Enrollment in an approved four-year engineering curriculum and formal university co-op or internship program.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week from May through August 2027.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Nice to have
- Coursework or project experience in vibrations, acoustics, structural dynamics, controls, or signal processing.
- Experience with instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition, or engineering laboratories.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, Simcenter Testlab, or similar tools.
- Mechanical aptitude involving engines, powertrains, marine systems, or related equipment.
- Formula SAE, Baja SAE, undergraduate research, boating, or other hands-on engineering experience.
