TL;DR
Mechanical Engineering Intern (Marine) (CAD/Manufacturing): Supporting the development, testing, and validation of new marine products with an accent on mechanical components, marine systems, technical drawings, and 3D models. Focus on creating manufacturable designs, resolving technical issues with suppliers and manufacturing, and documenting engineering changes.

Location: Edgewater, Florida, United States. Full-time internship from May to August 2026, with a required 40-hour work week. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Pay: $18.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on education, skills, experience, business needs, and geographic location.

What you will do

  • Support engineers in developing innovative, manufacturable marine products that meet regulatory, quality, and specification requirements.
  • Develop mechanical components and plumbing, fuel, water, and propulsion systems within established cost targets.
  • Create 2D drawings, 3D solid or surface models, specification prints, construction drawings, and manufacturing work instructions.
  • Participate in design reviews and the building, testing, and validation of new products for Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, and Navan.
  • Communicate with suppliers, perform technical evaluations, generate reports, and resolve design issues.
  • Support manufacturing and customer service with integration, troubleshooting, engineering changes, and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States without present or future sponsorship.
  • Ability to work full time and complete a 40-hour work week from May through August 2026.

Nice to have

  • At least two years of completed university study.
  • CAD and 3D modeling experience, preferably with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Pro/Engineer.
  • Boating, fishing, or marine industry experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
