TL;DR
Electro-Mechanical Engineering Intern (Marine Electrical Systems): Developing and testing electrical components, wiring harnesses, panels, and 12V marine electrical systems with an accent on CAD, prototype builds, and testing documentation. Focus on installing and troubleshooting AC/DC circuits, generating engineering changes for production, and communicating design intent to manufacturing teams.

Location: Onsite in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, United States. The role requires a full 40-hour work week. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States immediately and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $18.00–$27.00 per hour.

What you will do

  • Develop and refine testing documentation for electromechanical systems and electrical products.
  • Analyze product functions and interactions between components and systems.
  • Communicate design intent to internal and external manufacturing teams.
  • Build engineering prototypes and support new product development testing.
  • Generate engineering change notices for electrical components, panels, wiring harnesses, and system improvements.
  • Design simple 12V marine electrical systems and install, test, and troubleshoot AC/DC circuits and components.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • Ability to synthesize solutions when design inputs are vague or incomplete.
  • Strong organization, record-keeping, and multitasking skills.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and a willingness to learn.
  • Immediate authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with 3D CAD software; Creo and Creo Schematics are used.
  • Familiarity with marine or recreational vehicle products and ABYC requirements.
  • Experience with new product introduction cycles.
  • Shop or bench fabrication, assembly, and basic wiring experience.
  • Knowledge of Komax products.
