Senior Application/System Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Support complex product, system, and technical frameworks across the global sustaining team.
• Coordinate subsystem integration, troubleshoot system issues, and resolve design weaknesses and program support deficiencies.
• Develop corrective actions, conduct feasibility studies, and plan resources for device testing and evaluation.
• Own and drive escalated field issues for top customers to closure while steering technical discussions in high-pressure situations.
• Author Software Requirements Documents for system-level software issues and features.
• Coordinate assignments, support personnel, testing, prototypes, and manufacturing activities across global time zones.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree with 7–10 or more years of experience, or 15 or more years of relevant equivalent experience.
• Experience with 8D, A3, and 7-Step troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience in robotics, precision dispensing, metrology, or similar industries.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, tolerance stack-ups, and vision systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, planning, coordination, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across organizations and regions.

Nice to have

• Experience using Programmable Logic Controllers and National Instruments devices for testing.
• Project management experience, including critical-path assessment, mitigation planning, and driving closure.
