TL;DR
Automation Engineer (Robotics): Deploying turn-key robotic integration solutions at customer manufacturing sites from site assessment and cell design through installation, programming, testing, and handoff with an accent on robot programming, industrial networking, safety systems, and customer deployment. Focus on designing robotic cells, integrating robots with PLCs and factory systems, commissioning vision-guided applications, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and software issues.

Location: On-site five days per week in the Southeast Pennsylvania shop, Philadelphia area, United States

Salary: $80,000–$150,000 per year

hirify.global is a New York-based robotics company developing and manufacturing AI-powered six-axis robot arms, including hardware, software, vision systems, and electronics.

What you will do

  • Conduct site surveys and process reviews, and design robotic cells, tooling, fixtures, and safety zones.
  • Create integration specifications, I/O maps, wiring diagrams, and risk assessments.
  • Program robots with motion paths, force-control routines, and vision-guided pick logic.
  • Integrate robots with PLCs, HMIs, MES, and ERP systems using EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus TCP.
  • Lead factory and site acceptance testing, installation, startup, safety commissioning, and customer handoff.
  • Provide troubleshooting, training, documentation, and continuous improvement for deployed automation systems.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience integrating industrial or collaborative robots in manufacturing.
  • Experience leading complete turn-key automation projects from design through customer acceptance.
  • Experience programming Universal Robots, Fanuc, KUKA, ABB, or equivalent industrial or collaborative robots.
  • PLC programming experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent systems, plus familiarity with industrial networking protocols.
  • Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD tools and hands-on electrical skills, including schematic reading, panel wiring, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of robot kinematics, end-of-arm tooling, collaborative safety standards, and machine vision systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ROS2 or other robot middleware frameworks.
  • Background in machine tending, palletizing, welding automation, or assembly applications.
  • Familiarity with OEE metrics and lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and SMED.
  • OSHA 10/30 training, an engineering degree, or experience in regulated industries.
