Senior Supply Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Full-time, on-site at Sunnyvale HQ, California; travel to suppliers as needed at approximately 15–25%. No relocation provided.

Salary: $165,000–$190,000 base, depending on experience. Stock options are also provided.

What you will do

• Own the top-30% strategic supplier portfolio for the K7, K1, and H1 hardware programs by cost or criticality.
• Negotiate Master Purchase Agreements covering volume pricing, warranty terms, forecasts, cancellations, tariffs, tooling, and intellectual property protection.
• Build direct technical escalation channels with supplier engineering leaders and resolve hot-fix, failure-analysis, and design issues.
• Lead the transition of integration-partner-sourced BOM lines to direct hirify.global ownership and reduce external sourcing costs.
• Move high-spend catalog parts toward volume-sourced alternatives as production volumes mature.
• Develop supplier strategies for embedded AI compute and vision platforms while driving supplier cybersecurity and software supply-chain compliance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of senior engineering experience in strategic supplier engineering for low-volume, high-complexity, custom-heavy products.
• Automotive industry experience and fluency with APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, ISO 26262, ASIL, run-at-rate validation, tooling kickoffs, SOP/SORP dates, PSW signoff, and supplier scorecards.
• Experience sourcing and qualifying low-volume molded parts, including composite, SMC/RIM, or large-format injection-molded components.
• Experience transitioning prototype manufacturing methods to production tooling, including tooling investment structuring and DFM coordination.
• Knowledge of TAA and BABA compliance, country-of-origin documentation, NIST 800-171, CMMC, SBOM completeness, and signed-update mechanisms.
• Required engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering; must be able to work full-time on-site at Sunnyvale HQ.
