System Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Monitor and maintain automated warehouse systems, including conveyors, lifts, robotic vehicles, motors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform advanced electrical, mechanical, and automation troubleshooting for production-impacting issues.
• Diagnose failures across Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, AC/DC motors, servo motors, sensors, and control hardware.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance and analyze system data, alarms, logs, and dashboards to identify recurring faults.
• Document repairs and findings in CMMS systems such as Maximo and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians and operators.
• Act as a senior technical escalation point during downtime events and partner with onsite operations and technical teams to restore system performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting PLCs, preferably Allen-Bradley, without a focus on heavy programming.
• At least 1 year of experience with VFDs, AC/DC motors, and automated equipment such as conveyors, vertical lifts, robotics, servo motors, AS/RS, or 480V systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and Linux for diagnostics, log review, and system interaction.
• Ability to work at heights up to 45 feet, in confined spaces, and handle or move up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license required; compliance with PPE, LOTO, fall protection, OSHA, and electrical safety requirements is mandatory.
