What you will do
- Assist physicians and clinicians with patient examinations, procedures, and general clinical care.
- Escort patients and record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes, and other pre-visit data.
- Obtain patient records, prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms, and maintain disinfection protocols.
- Administer delegated subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
- Answer patient calls, coordinate referrals, phone in prescriptions, and communicate reschedules and no-shows.
- Perform clerical support, including typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, scheduling, and entering orders under provider supervision.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or nursing assistant experience: 0–3 years for Level I, at least 3 years for Level II, or at least 5 years in a hospital or clinic setting for Senior level.
- Medical assistant program graduation and Certified Medical Assistant certification are preferred; applicable state certifications may be required.
- Current BLS certification is required for the Senior level.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, handle and lift patients, and occasionally carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Nice to have
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Accredited medical assistant program certification.
- Certified Medical Assistant certification for Level I and Level II.
