Director of Operations (Manufacturing)

Location: Edgewater, Florida, United States; onsite manufacturing role

Salary: $118,400–$174,100 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead approximately 400 employees in the Boston Whaler Assembly department.
• Build a safe, inclusive, accountable, and high-performance manufacturing culture.
• Develop managers, supervisors, and frontline leaders through mentoring, training, and coaching.
• Implement and sustain Lean systems, including Gemba, Andon, 5S, standard work, takt time, and A3 problem solving.
• Improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity through structured root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Partner with engineering, quality, supply chain, HR, and finance on capital planning, facility and equipment projects, budgeting, product introductions, and engineering changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment; marine or boat manufacturing experience is highly preferred.
• Experience leading 300+ employees in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience implementing Lean systems and leading cultural transformation, with strong knowledge of Andon, visual management, production flow, and Lean tools.
• Strong analytical, statistical, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work standing, bending, and reaching; lift up to 50 lbs; and work in noisy, non-climate-controlled production areas with fiberglass dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and moving machinery.
