TL;DR
Import Export Manager (Trade Compliance and Supply Chain): Leading import and export strategy, customs compliance, international material flow, and logistics operations in a manufacturing plant with an accent on IMMEX, PROSEC, USMCA/T-MEC, audit governance, and duty optimization. Focus on managing customs risk, resolving critical logistics escalations, improving trade documentation and inventory accuracy, and developing high-performing teams.

Location: Ramos Arizpe, Mexico; onsite management role

What you will do

  • Define and execute the plant’s import and export strategy while advising leadership on foreign trade matters.
  • Own customs and trade compliance for IMMEX, PROSEC, Annex 24, Annex 30, USMCA/T-MEC, OEA, and CTPAT.
  • Ensure continuity of international material flows and manage customs brokers, carriers, and freight forwarders.
  • Lead compliance reviews, trade risk assessments, internal, external, and government audits, and closure of audit findings.
  • Drive cost reduction, duty savings, supplier negotiations, and logistics KPI governance.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams, including talent reviews, succession planning, training, and engagement programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in international business, trade, logistics, supply chain, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 8–12 years of progressive import and export experience, including manufacturing and IMMEX experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience leading teams and demonstrated audit leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of Customs Law, PROSEC, Annex 24, Annex 30, USMCA/T-MEC, rules of origin, tariff classification, customs valuation, and Incoterms 2020.
  • Experience with SAP and Power BI.
  • Advanced professional English is required, including strong written and verbal communication with senior leadership, global teams, customs authorities, customers, and external partners.
