Import Export Compliance Specialist

What you will do

• Coordinate import and export transactions, border crossings, customs clearance, and international shipment documentation.
• Prepare, review, validate, and maintain commercial invoices, compliance records, reports, and regulatory filings.
• Work with U.S. and Mexican customs brokers, carriers, government agencies, warehouses, logistics, production, and purchasing teams.
• Monitor compliance with IMMEX, Annex 24, Annex 30, PROSEC, Rule 8th, and other foreign trade programs.
• Maintain, reconcile, and audit customs ihirify.globalory control systems, including fixed asset ihirify.globalory activities.
• Track transportation, operational requirements, KPIs, continuous improvement initiatives, and cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of import/export operations experience in a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.
• Experience with customs compliance, ihirify.globalory control, foreign trade operations, virtual operations, and customs ihirify.globalory reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of IMMEX requirements and Mexican Customs Law, plus experience with Annex 24 and Annex 30 systems.
• Experience with JD Edwards or a similar ERP system and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills; availability to travel as required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of PROSEC, Rule 8th, and other foreign trade programs.
• Experience supporting Annual Reports and compliance obligations before the Ministry of Economy.
• Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish, verbally and in writing.
