Trade Compliance Specialist (Import/Export)

Location: Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico

What you will do

• Monitor domestic and international shipments subject to security and export-control regulations.
• Maintain ITAR export records for hardware, technical data, and defense services, including jurisdiction determinations.
• Perform license determinations, apply exceptions and exemptions, and file license applications when required.
• Conduct customer screening, denied-party checks, end-use verification, and high-risk shipment reviews.
• Research and maintain ECCN classifications, coordinate certifications with the EMEA trade compliance team, and keep records updated in SAP.
• Support compliance training, blocked-order release, reporting, regulatory research, and process-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically less than two years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience in foreign trade, import and export, customs operations, and inventory control.
• Knowledge of IMMEX, Annex 24 and Annex 30, customs entries, regime changes, and virtual operations.
• Foundational knowledge of ITAR, EAR, export licensing, ECCN classification, and denied-party screening.
• Work onsite in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico.

Nice to have

• Experience with Aranxel or similar systems.
• Experience with Interxel or similar systems.
• ERP experience, preferably SAP.
• Experience working with KPIs.
