Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components for aerospace and defense applications, including power, radar, directed energy, and electronic warfare solutions.

What you will do

  • Manage purchasing activities and material requirements planning to support production value streams.
  • Coordinate priorities, schedule changes, and delivery information with manufacturing teams and outside processing suppliers.
  • Develop inventory action plans and support Kanban-based replenishment to reduce shortages and improve inventory turns.
  • Obtain supplier quotes, negotiate blanket purchase orders, and pursue procurement cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance, including fill rates, quality, lead times, and on-time shipment.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies, non-conforming material issues, corrective actions, RMAs, and Oracle ERP return transactions.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of buying experience in a similar industry or equivalent supply chain knowledge gained through work or education.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, buying and ordering procedures, production planning, MRP, and Kanban systems.
  • Ability to coordinate materials and production schedules across multiple teams, solve urgent manufacturing problems, and communicate outcomes and trends.
  • Ability to negotiate changes with vendors and manufacturing teams.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word, with the ability to work with Access databases and production-support computer systems.
  • High school diploma required. Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires authorization from the U.S. Government; ITAR and potential classified-information eligibility requirements apply.

Nice to have

  • AA/AS or BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Materials, or a related field.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
