Buyer II (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Purchase components, raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies while balancing price, quality, quantity, and delivery requirements.
• Manage supplier communication, source selection, contract negotiations, and supplier on-time delivery performance.
• Plan inventory levels using Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and maintain procurement system data integrity.
• Identify and help resolve delivery delays, non-conforming material issues, purchase order discrepancies, and invoice concerns.
• Develop cost-saving proposals, including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing, volume pricing, and vendor evaluation.
• Coordinate supplier-related engineering change orders, demand forecasting, replenishment, and procurement activities.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of purchasing, planning, or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Contract negotiation, project management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to regularly stand and walk, work at a computer, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
• APICS certification or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification.
• Previous experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
