Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States; contract position based out of the Chelmsford location with a mix of in-office and remote work depending on role and business needs

What you will do
- Coordinate purchasing activities with production control, operations, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
- Manage day-to-day inventory planning and process Oracle MRP and planned-order outputs.
- Track work-order shortages and expedite production and service materials to meet customer delivery goals.
- Manage purchase orders, supplier quotations, price comparisons, and purchase price variance reporting.
- Follow up on supplier date changes, resolve delivery issues, and monitor on-time delivery and quality performance.
- Support consignment inventory management and disposition of non-conforming materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant purchasing experience.
- Experience in purchasing, scheduling, material requirements planning, inventory management, risk management, supplier relationship management, and manufacturing resource planning.
- Experience with mechanical or machined-component suppliers, both locally and overseas.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-technology manufacturing environment with mechanical commodity areas and related suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with Excel pivot-table experience preferred, and experience with Oracle EBS or Oracle Cloud.
- Working knowledge of Lean principles and Kanban utilization.
Nice to have
- APICS CPIM or CPP certification.
