Expert Risk & Innovation Engineer

Location: Hybrid role based in Danville, California, with work from a remote office and the assigned work location according to business needs.

Salary: $140,000–$238,000 annually for the Bay Area.

What you will do

• Lead complex engineering, testing, analysis, risk assessment, and technology innovation projects across energy delivery systems.
• Develop probabilistic risk models and asset risk analytics to quantify asset health, degradation, failure probability, and consequences across grid infrastructure.
• Apply stochastic processes, Bayesian analysis, survival modeling, machine learning, engineering physics, statistics, and uncertainty quantification to evaluate reliability risks.
• Mentor and direct engineers and engineering technicians while owning project scope, schedules, budgets, communications, and client proposals.
• Oversee technical system and prototype assembly, develop test plans and procedures, and execute work in laboratory, field, and desktop environments.
• Present findings and recommendations to clients, senior leadership, external customers, agencies, and industry audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering related to the assignment, such as mechanical, civil, or electrical engineering.
• At least 7 years of job-related experience.
• Expertise in at least one engineering or technical discipline, with the ability to work across multiple disciplines and functional areas.
• Ability to independently resolve complex, high-impact problems and develop practical, innovative solutions.
• Travel required, depending on assignment, approximately 10%–75%.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineer license.
