CAD Drafter / Designer (Contract Role)

Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States. Work arrangements may include a mix of in-office and remote work depending on the role and business needs; specific expectations are shared during the interview process.

What you will do

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Apply GD&T according to ASME Y14 standards and prepare manufacturing-, inspection-, and assembly-ready drawing packages.
• Generate assembly drawings, exploded views, and Bills of Materials.
• Document, revise, and release drawings and related files through Agile PLM.
• Support Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders.
• Identify and resolve design and documentation issues while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience using Creo in a CAD Drafter / Designer role.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and mechanical drawing practices.
• Experience creating detailed part drawings and complex assembly drawings.
• Familiarity with Agile PLM or a similar product lifecycle management system.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot design issues, manage priorities, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Must be eligible for employment in the United States; hirify.global participates in E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Experience in manufacturing, automation, or robotics.
• Knowledge of machined parts, sheet metal, and mechanical assemblies.
• Experience supporting production or sustaining engineering teams.
