Mechanical Designer/CAD Engineer (Hardware)

Location: New York Office, hybrid

Salary: $130,000–$150,000 annual base salary; final compensation varies by skills, experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Build and manage CAD files in OnShape while applying professional experience with SolidWorks or CREO.
• Develop and iterate physical hardware from prototypes through production for in-house manufacturing.
• Maintain CAD hygiene, revisions, and medium- to large-scale bills of materials.
• Apply commercial product development experience to design for manufacturing and production methods.
• Improve collaboration and execution across hardware, field operations, software, and robotics teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience taking physical products to market in a commercial environment.
• Hands-on experience with physical prototypes, including traditional hand prototyping and 3D printing.
• Proficiency in solid and surface modeling.
• Experience building and maintaining medium- to large-scale CAD models and bills of materials.
• Clear communication across technical and non-technical teams in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
• Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience and proficiency with OnShape.
• Familiarity with production methods and material science based on hands-on experience.
• Experience in an early-stage startup with rapid iteration and limited resources.
• Curiosity and willingness to contribute to broader design and engineering challenges.
