TL;DR
Engineer II, Mechanical Design (Medical Robotics): Designing and improving mechanical devices and subassemblies for healthcare products from concept through manufacturing release with an accent on design for manufacturability, tolerance stack-up, reliability, and serviceability. Focus on investigating design issues, performing root cause analysis and FMEA, planning verification testing, and supporting manufacturing and service teams.

Location: Warrendale, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite work based out of the Warrendale office, with a hybrid arrangement also indicated and occasional domestic and international travel.

Base compensation: $64,290–$110,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Design and develop mechanical devices and subassemblies from concept through manufacturing release.
  • Investigate product and system-level design issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Execute feasibility studies and design change projects, including ECR/ECO processes and documentation updates.
  • Balance product requirements with cost, schedule, DFM, tolerance stack-up, and serviceability considerations.
  • Plan and perform engineering verification testing, analyze results, and prepare test reports.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service teams, including support during occasional travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience designing mechanical subassemblies and working with BOMs, MRP systems, and ECR/ECO processes.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis, FEA theory and tools, and DFMEA activities.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience as a technician, assembler, or field service professional.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent advanced experience.
  • Experience with medical products, regulated environments, healthcare markets, Agile PLM, robotics, or automated mechanical systems.
