Lead Fabricator (Metalworking)

Pay: $21.15–$30.22 per hour

What you will do

• Review customer specifications, drawings, work orders, and blueprints to determine finished-product characteristics, materials, and machine setup requirements.
• Retrieve materials and fabricate customized workpieces according to work-order specifications.
• Inspect finished work visually and with tape rules, calipers, or gauges to maintain quality standards.
• Analyze production data and resolve issues involving manufacturing processes, machinery, processing, and packaging.
• Coach and train lower-level fabricators while modeling company policies and safety procedures.
• Prepare completed customer orders for shipment and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in the relevant area.
• Experience with fabrication shop equipment and metalworking.
• Ability to lead staff by example and perform light supervisory duties without hiring or firing authority.
• Ability to work independently under limited supervision, interpret procedures, modify processes, and exercise sound judgment.
• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred; must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical work environment and pass pre-employment assessments if applicable.
