Salary: $117,900–$131,000 per year, depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Administer the radioactive materials shipping and receiving program at Dresden Nuclear Power Station.
• Oversee shipments and receipts, including inspections, shipment authorizations, paperwork, and records retention.
• Perform curie content calculations, classify radioactive waste shipments, and complete 10CFR61 analyses.
• Maintain the computer programs used for radioactive material shipments.
• Monitor changes to radioactive shipping regulations and update station procedures.
• Support emergency response, department coverage, call-outs, and outage activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in health physics or a related science with 3 years of applied Radiation Protection experience; or an equivalent combination of associate’s degree or high school diploma/GED and relevant experience.
• Alternatively, a current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience.
• Maintain minimum or unescorted access requirements, as applicable to the position.
• Pass the favorable medical examination and/or testing required for the position duties.
• Develop effective oral and written communications for different audiences.

Nice to have

• National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) certification.
• Certified Health Physicist (CHP) certification.
