Senior Reactor Operator 4 (Nuclear): Supporting the development of the NuScale nuclear plant design and training materials for safe, efficient, and reliable plant operation with an accent on operational principles, procedure development, and regulatory compliance. Focus on performing design reviews, resolving complex operational issues, and preparing technical information for the NRC, customers, investors, and other stakeholders.

Location: Remote within the contiguous United States, with national and local travel as required for business needs.

Target annual pay range: $127,104–$153,401. Full annual pay range: $113,955–$178,237.

What you will do

  • Integrate nuclear industry engineering and operational principles into the NuScale design to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operation.
  • Develop operating and maintenance procedures for normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
  • Develop training materials and training programs for NuScale plant staff.
  • Perform design reviews, special studies, analyses, and design decisions addressing complex operational and design issues.
  • Prepare and present technical information to the NRC, potential customers, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support Standard Design Approval development, marketing, and licensing of the NuScale design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, Human Factors Engineering, or Industrial Psychology from an accredited four-year institution.
  • Previously held SRO or RO license, or SRO certification, is required.
  • At least 8 years of full-time experience in the commercial nuclear power industry.
  • Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear power plant operational principles, applicable industry standards, codes, regulations, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Experience with training, plant operations, procedure development, or human factors engineering is preferred.
