Aviation Intern (UAS)

Location: Hybrid in Columbus, OH or Valparaiso, IN, with on-site presence three days per week and remote work two days per week. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the reporting location.

Salary: $17.20–$27.80 per hour

What you will do

• Support the planning and coordination of UAS operations and flight schedules.
• Act as Remote Pilot in Command for selected UAS missions when assigned.
• Collect and report operational performance, safety, and compliance data.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and scheduling teams to maintain operational readiness.
• Prepare project execution schedules, crew briefings, meeting materials, and operational documents.
• Participate in safety management system activities and risk assessments.

Requirements

• Rising junior or senior student entering the 2027–2028 academic year, pursuing a degree in Aviation, UAS Operations, or a related field.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Availability for a 12-week summer internship starting in May 2027.
• Ability to support emergency response efforts, including work outside normal hours during storm season.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with UAS-related projects.
• Private Pilot License.
