Summer 2027 Personal Lines Underwriting Intern

What you will do

• Complete training to understand the personal lines underwriting process.
• Assist with portfolio underwriting and learn to analyze risks, policy alternatives, and business trends.
• Support profitable growth and retention by identifying underwriting opportunities.
• Provide customer service and communicate with agency partners, sales, claims, and internal teams.
• Complete a capstone project by identifying an underwriting opportunity, developing a solution, and presenting it to Personal Lines leadership.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field.
• Completion of sophomore or junior year is preferred.
• Ability to learn risk assessment and make decisions.
• Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to use a personal computer and underwriting-related business software.
