Location: Remote or hybrid within the United States; availability required during 7:00 AM–6:00 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday. Client office: 444 Lafayette Rd N, St. Paul, Minnesota.

What you will do

• Define data product vision, roadmaps, backlogs, and priorities with enterprise architecture, technical leads, and agency leadership.
• Lead migration from legacy mainframe data pipelines to modern cloud lakehouse and curation architectures.
• Partner with data engineering and data science teams to develop scalable pipelines, analytical models, and reusable data services in Databricks and related cloud tools.
• Support dashboards and KPI frameworks in Tableau, Power BI, and Looker, measuring data product adoption and impact.
• Establish data lineage, metadata cataloging, automated data quality, privacy, governance, and ethical AI practices.
• Lead knowledge-transfer sessions and documentation for long-term operational excellence.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in data management, data engineering, data analytics, or technical product management.
• Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases, SQL, ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience managing digital or data products through the full development lifecycle and translating business requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to executive stakeholders.
• Must be physically located within the United States and available during Central Time business hours.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Databricks workflow design or management experience.
• Experience with dbt and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Google Analytics.
• Programming literacy in Python and/or Java.
• Experience in public sector, healthcare, human services, or other regulated industries.
• Experience building developer-facing data products or enterprise data meshes.
