Director of Investments

Location: New York, NY, USA; candidates based in New York, Denver, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, or Bethesda are preferred, while candidates outside these markets may also be considered. Frequent travel is required for asset tours, meetings, and transaction execution.

Salary: $230,000–$260,000 yearly base salary plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Source, evaluate, and advance multifamily acquisition opportunities aligned with the investment strategy.
• Lead market coverage and relationships with brokers, owners, operators, joint venture partners, and other market participants.
• Drive disposition processes, including valuation, marketing strategy, buyer outreach, diligence coordination, buyer selection, and closing.
• Coordinate underwriting, due diligence, investment committee materials, legal documentation, financing, and operational transition planning.
• Negotiate letters of intent, purchase agreements, and transaction terms with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
• Lead and mentor the underwriting and transaction execution team while coordinating with Asset Management, Finance, Legal, Operations, Construction, and Debt Capital Markets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, business, economics, or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of relevant experience in multifamily investments, acquisitions, dispositions, real estate private equity, investment banking, or related transactions.
• Demonstrated experience executing complex real estate transactions, including valuation, underwriting, due diligence, negotiation, financing coordination, and closing.
• Strong understanding of multifamily markets, real estate fundamentals, capital markets, and transaction structures.
• Exceptional executive presence, communication, relationship-building, influencing, and judgment skills.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment and travel frequently based on deal flow and market activity.
