Supplier Quality Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Richmond Manufacturing; onsite manufacturing environment. Training schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM through the end of 2026, followed by rotating day shifts in Q1 2027 and rotating night shifts in Q2 2027.

Salary: $29.70 per hour. A 10% shift differential applies when the position moves to night shift.

What you will do

• Inspect purchased materials and verify compliance with hirify.global quality requirements.
• Identify, categorize, contain, escalate, and communicate supplier defects through supplier notifications.
• Manage quarantined and nonconforming materials, including RMA follow-up and quality disposition decisions.
• Maintain quality databases, metrics, action logs, traceability reports, and supplier quality documentation.
• Supervise supplier personnel during onsite containment activities while following EHS requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and QEHS teams on training, process capability, compliance, 5S, and audit readiness.

Requirements

• Two to three years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or an equivalent role.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of quality systems, inspections, and nonconformance management.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; SAP or a similar ERP system is preferred.
• Ability to understand basic technical or quality documentation and meet vision and color differentiation requirements.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift, push, or pull materials up to approximately 35 lbs, work around noise and moving equipment, and wear required PPE.

Nice to have

• Technical certification or associate degree.
