Supplier Quality Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

What you will do

• Review purchase requisitions, requests for quote, drawings, specifications, statements of work, and purchase orders to ensure quality requirements are complete and properly flowed down to suppliers.
• Collaborate with program quality engineering to apply appropriate quality assurance codes and supplier requirements.
• Review supplier audits, surveys, certifications, and approved supplier records to ensure documentation remains current.
• Generate supplier scorecards measuring delivery and quality performance.
• Approve and qualify new suppliers through documentation reviews and site visits.
• Issue and track supplier corrective action requests, support internal audits, and lead efforts to prevent recurring quality issues.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
• Eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance is required.
• Associate’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems in aviation, space, or defense environments.
• Experience interpreting customer contracts, specifications, drawings, and procurement quality requirements, plus proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Experience auditing quality systems for deficiencies.
